Preschoolers and Beginners Ballet
A pale pink leotard in any style sleeve. Ballet tights and soft pink ballet shoes with elastic sewn on, no ribbons. A pink chiffon Steppes skirt and headband is optional. During winter students may wear a pink cross over, leg warmers or leggings.
Primary Ballet, Preparatory Ballet, Level 1,2 & 3 Ballet
A white leotard in any style sleeve. Ballet tights and soft pink ballet shoes with elastic sewn on, no ribbons. A white chiffon Steppes skirt and headband is optional. During winter students may wear a white or pink crossover, pale pink leg warmers or leggings.
Level 4, Transition and Major 1 Ballet
A black leotard with no sleeves. Ballet tights and soft pink ballet shoes with ribbons sewn on. A black Russian style leotard is optional. During winter students may wear a pale pink or black cross over. Pink leg warmers and leggings are also acceptable.
Jazz / Funk & Tap
5-9yrs- White sleevless leotard
9yrs + -black leotard
All ages- Black shorts, leggins or dance pants and tan split sole Jazz shoes with no laces
Boys
A white tight T shirt with black leggings or bike shorts. White socks and black shoes depending on dance style – ballet, jazz or tap.
Hair
Long hair should be tied back neatly and securely for all classes. A ballet bun is preferable for all classical ballet and a pony tail is acceptable for jazz and modern. Shorter hair should be groomed away from the face with a headband. For health reasons hair should be tied up off the face.
No Jiffies
Jiffies are not suitable footwear, they are very slippery and are not well shaped to the foot. Satin ballet shoes are also very slippery and are not recommended.
Jewellery
Jewellery should not be worn in class as it may catch on students’ hair or clothing.

Dancewear can be purchased from Bloch Chadstone and Energetiks East Bentleigh.
